How do you start?

Follow these steps to get a basic starter site:

  1. Look at our sample site with starter pages (on menu at left).
  2. Pick an image for the banner at the top of your site
  3. Pick a color scheme
  4. Fill out and send us the starter outline with basic information you want the public to see
  5. Within a couple days, we create a basic starter site, let you know it's ready, and give you a password
  6. Log in to your new site and make any changes or additions you want by following these instructions

What will your web address be?

By default, you will have a "subdomain" address like pcifchurches.yourchurch.org. If you want your own domain name, you can purchase one from one of the lowcost providers like GoDaddy.com for about $8.00 a year. You must then "forward" your domain name to our subdomain name using these instructions.

PCIF is an affilliation of independent, Bible-based churches. This project is organized by the Virginia branch of PCIF under Bishop Phillip Thomas, pastor of Highview Christian Fellowship in Fairfax, Virginia. Two members of Highview provide technical support: Teri Murphy set up the site, and Nina Holder is your "Web Sister" who provides support on an on-going basis.

The site is built on CMS Made Simple (CMSMS), a free "Content Management System" that makes it possible for you to edit your site live on the Web. So we are indebted to the smart and generous folks at CMSMS as well as to the folks at Open Source Hosting, a host familiar with Content Management Systems.
